Mad Desert Trekking group adventures are lead by expert, professional guides with either Wilderness First Aid, Wilderness First Responder or EMT certification.
Our guides are trained, certified volunteer stewards with the McDowell Sonoran Preserve of Scottsdale, and the Phoenix Mountains Preserve, with lots of fascinating knowledge to share with your group about the flora, fauna, geology and history of the Sonoran Desert of Arizona.
Mad Desert Trekking is fully insured and operates with special use commercial guiding permits with the City of Scottsdale, City of Phoenix, and Maricopa County Regional Parks System.

- Your group will experience the energy of hiking through the Sonoran Desert, the most diverse desert in the world. We love the trails in the Sonoran Desert of Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona … and we know you will, too.
- Go at your own speed. We’ll customize the hike to your group’s preferred start time, mileage, terrain and grade.
- Meet your guides at the trailhead for the standard package group tour.
- Transportation can be provided for a customized group hiking tour for an extra charge. Please call 480-818-6821 for a quote if you would like transportation provided in your group hiking tour.
- Explore the geology, plants, animals of the Sonoran Desert.
